In the 16th match of the Women's T20 World Cup 2023, the West Indies women's cricket team defeated Pakistan by 3 runs on Sunday.

This is the second win of the West Indies team in four matches in this World Cup being held on the soil of South Africa.

This is Pakistan women's cricket team's second defeat in three matches, both teams are included in Group-B.

West Indies won the match like this

Batting first after winning the toss, West Indies scored 116 runs losing six wickets in 20 overs. Wicketkeeper batsman Rashda Williams (30) scored the most runs from the team.

Chasing a target of 117 runs, the Pakistan team could manage only 113 runs in 20 overs losing five wickets. Aliya Riaz scored maximum 29 runs from the team. Hayley Mathews (2/14) was the most successful bowler for the Windies.

Dar fought for Pakistan

Pakistan's start was not very special and on the score of 15 runs, they lost the wickets of both the openers in the form of Mubeena Ali (5) and Sadira Amin (8).

After this, there was a crucial partnership of 44 runs in 53 balls for the third wicket between the experienced Nida Dar (27) and captain Bismah Maroof.

Maroof (26) and Aliya Riaz shared a 30-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Rashda handled the Windies innings

The West Indies team's innings seemed to revolve around Rashda. Rashda and captain Hayley Mathews (20) added 33 runs for the first wicket.

After this, there was the biggest partnership of 40 runs between Shamen Campbell (22) and Rashda for the second wicket.

Rashda got out after scoring 30 runs in 34 balls with the help of two fours. After this the team kept losing wickets at regular intervals and piled on a simple score.

These records made in the match

Captain Mathews has completed 1,500 runs in T20 Internationals. She has become the third player of the West Indies women's team to do so.

Dar (26) has become the joint eighth highest wicket-taker in the Women's T20 World Cup. She equaled Deandra Dottin of the West Indies in this case.

West Indies' Shamaine Campbelle (119) has become the 10th most capped player in Women's T20 Internationals.
