US offers training to an Indian astronaut, should not be a Gaganyaan passenger
4 Indian Air Force pilots have taken training in Russia for Gaganyaan mission

The US has offered to train an Indian astronaut as part of future cooperation in the space sector. A senior Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) official said that this training is not for the astronauts who are part of India's first manned space mission Gaganyaan.

He also informed that the plan for the training of Indian astronauts has not been finalized yet.

Astronauts have taken training in Russia for Gaganyaan

Earlier, 4 Indian Air Force (IAF) pilots had undergone astronaut training in Russia for the Gaganyaan mission. The training in Russia included acclimatization to living in the space environment, the changes in the body in space, and learning skills to cope with them.

Along with this, giving detailed information about the system of the Soyuz spacecraft that took the astronauts to the International Space Station was also part of the training.

Gaganyaan mission delayed due to Corona

Gaganyaan was planned to be sent to space by December, 2021, but the Gaganyaan mission got delayed due to the Corona virus pandemic. The pandemic disrupted the training of people taking training in Russia as well as other plans, which caused the delay.

Space missions will be sent into orbit under ISRO's Gaganyaan mission. Of these three missions, 2 will be unmanned, while one will be a manned mission.

The mission will revolve around the earth at an altitude of 300-400 km from the earth.

The Human Space Flight Program (Ortib Module) will have astronauts. It will revolve around the earth in a low earth orbit at an altitude of 300-400 km from the earth.

Gaganyaan was designed in 2007, but could not be implemented due to budget and technical constraints. Then ISRO's GSLV rockets were not capable of carrying the man-carrying module. ISRO achieved this capability by preparing GSLV Mark-2 and Mark-3. It is also called Launch Vehicle Mark (LVM).

Objective of Gaganyaan Mission

The Gaganyaan mission will help in raising the level of science and technology in the country and inspire the youth. This will help in improving industrial growth.

The government had also announced the formation of IN-SPACe in the order of reforms being done to increase private participation in the space sector.

It will help in the development of technology for social benefits. It will also help in promoting international cooperation.

India is also preparing for Chandrayaan-3

India is also preparing for Chandrayaan-3. It can be launched by June, 2023. Its launching was also delayed due to Corona and other reasons. Its purpose is to study the moon and to confirm India's presence there.

The 'Chandrayaan-3' mission has successfully completed an important test recently. ISRO informed on Sunday that the EMI/EMC test of the lander of 'Chandrayaan-3' has been successfully completed.
