The unstoppable Akhil Akkineni to make one-man show debut at CCL 2023; The non-striker sits on the ground to watch the batsman

CCL 2023: On the second day of Celebrity Cricket League, Telugu Warriors captain Akhil Akkineni played a remarkable knock against Kerala Strikers. Despite Kerala opening the batting, Akhil proved his ability as a top-class batsman. He scored an impressive 91 off only 30 balls, the highest individual score in the tournament so far. He was also given the man of the match award for his innings.

Akhil Akkineni played a blistering innings

Akhil opened the batting and took command from the start. He brought up his half-century in just 20 balls and then accelerated his scoring rate in the final overs. In the end, he was dismissed for 91 and caught by Vijay Yesudas at cover. However, his contribution was invaluable as he single-handedly took his team to a competitive total of 154 runs in the allotted 10 overs.

Akhil's innings contributed more than 60% of his team's total runs. He got some support from his teammate Prince, who scored 45 off 23 balls before taking 4 wickets. Overall, it was an excellent performance by Akhil and his team, and they will be hoping to carry this momentum forward into the tournament.
