Dubai Tennis Championship: Sania Mirza crashed out in the first round of her final tournament

Indian tennis star Sania Mirza crashed out in the first round on Tuesday in the final tournament of her tennis career.

Sania had already announced that the Dubai Tennis Championships would be the last tournament of her career.

Sania landed on the tennis court in this tournament with her American partner Madison Keys.

The pair was defeated by the Russian pair of Lyudmila Samsonova and Veronika Kudermetova in straight sets 4-6, 0-6.

Sania is counted among one of the most successful tennis players in India.

She is a three-time Grand Slam champion in women's doubles (Wimbledon and US Open in 2015, Australia Open in 2016).

She is also a three-time winner in mixed doubles (2009 AO, 2012 French Open, and 2014 US Open).

Mirza won 43 titles in doubles and three in mixed doubles, apart from one singles title in women's singles.
