Indian oil marketing companies have released the latest prices of petrol and diesel for Wednesday, February 22, 2023, in which there has been no increase. In this way, today is the 274th consecutive day when there has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel in the country.

At present, petrol in Delhi is being sold at Rs 96.72 a liter while diesel is being sold at Rs 89.62 a litre. Whereas in Mumbai, petrol is available at Rs 106.31 and diesel at Rs 94.27 per litre. While petrol in Kolkata is Rs 106.03 and diesel is Rs 92.76 per litre. On the other hand, petrol is being sold at Rs 102.63 and diesel at Rs 94.24 per liter in Chennai.

Excise duty was cut on 21 May 2022

Earlier on May 21, the government had cut excise duty on Petrol Diesel Price Today. Excise duty on petrol was cut by Rs 8 per liter and diesel by Rs 6 per litre. Since then the price of petrol and diesel had come down. After this, diesel became cheaper by Rs 9.50 and diesel by Rs 7 per liter in the country. Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Odisha and Kerala governments also cut VAT after the Centre's announcement.
