
Kota, Feb 19 (PTI) The family members of a 40-year-old woman allegedly attacked the medical staff on duty and damaged government property after a 40-year-old woman died during treatment at the district hospital in Bundi, Rajasthan. An official gave this information on Sunday.
Mumtaz, a resident of Mahaveer Colony in the city, was admitted to the medical ward of the hospital on Saturday night, but died within an hour.
Her family members claimed that the doctor and the medical staff had administered the wrong injection to the woman. After this, the relatives allegedly attacked the doctors and nursing staff on duty on the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday and damaged the property of the hospital along with misbehaving with them.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sohanlal Chowdhary and Additional Superintendent of Police Kishori Lal reached the spot and police force was called in to control the situation.
The doctors briefly boycotted work after the attack, but returned to work by 4 a.m. Sunday.
Chaudhary said that the body of the woman was handed over to the relatives after the post-mortem at night. At least seven people have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Rajasthan Medical Protection Act in the matter, police said.
