Ghaziabad (UP), February 19: At least two laborers were killed and 11 others injured when the lenter of an under-construction house collapsed in Loni area of Ghaziabad district on Sunday evening.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rural) Ravi Kumar said that at around 5 pm, a one-storey house of a person named Madan Pal Sharma was being built in Roop Nagar industrial area of Loni police station area. Its roof was being put up. Meanwhile, his lenter collapsed and many laborers were buried under the debris.
A total of 10 people have been pulled out of the debris so far, he said. Two of them have died.
The deceased have been identified as Sameer Ahmed (40) and Rajesh (30), police said in a statement. The injured have been identified as Kamlesh, Balkrishna Ravidas, Mangesh, Anil, Sunny Ravidas, Sanjeev, Sohail Ahmed and Prakash.
Most of the injured laborers are residents of Jharkhand.
He said that the treatment of the injured is going on at GTB Hospital. NDRF, local police, fire brigade and medical teams are carrying out relief and rescue operations at the spot.
