National People's Party (NPP) and LJP supporters clashed on Sunday afternoon at Thonoknew assembly seat in Noklak district.
A police official said that four people were slightly injured in stone-pelting between supporters of both the sides. The situation was brought under control following the deployment of the state police, the Indian Reserve Battalion and the Border Security Force (BSF), he said.
In another incident, unidentified persons pelted stones at the convoy of NPP state president Andrew Ahto Sema, injuring one person and damaging five vehicles, he said.

A member of Indesien Youth Organization claimed that supporters of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) came in 6-7 vehicles and shouted slogans and threw empty bottles at the house of the nominee and fired shots in the air.
Police said that two vehicles of LJP supporters have been seized.
