With the rumor of the end of Twitter , a social network existing since 2006, recently acquired by billionaire Elon Musk , the Koo social network gained sudden fame, taking advantage of the moment to expand around the world.
But after all, what is Koo?
Koo is a social network created in India in 2020. The initial goal was to reach Indians who don't speak other languages, but the social network ended up expanding due to Twitter's political and technological crises. Very similar to its competitor, the Koo application is an alternative for users who believe in the end of Twitter.
According to its official website , the app has already reached over 50 million users in 200 countries. In a recent BBC interview , co-founder Mayank Bidawatka said the goal is to reach 100 million users by the end of 2022.
“Today, Koo is the second largest microblog in the world. Given the changes taking place in the microblogging landscape globally, we are looking to expand our wings to geographies where fundamental rights are being enforced. We believe that these fundamental tools on the Internet should not come at a cost. We are very excited to invite a wider global audience to this proudly 'Made in India' product,” said Bidawatka.
How to download?

The Koo app can be downloaded for free on Android and iOS devices from their respective app stores. The social network can also be used on a PC, through the web version compatible with any of the main browsers. Currently, the application does not have technical support for Portuguese languages, but it will be added in a new version.
