Indian Railways: In a major blow to a large number of commuters ahead of Holi, the Indian Railways has decided to cancel several train services for a few days due to the ongoing work on the Lucknow and Gorakhpur railway divisions. According to the Indian Railways, this step has been taken as part of the ongoing doubling work between the Daliganj-Badshahnagar-Gomtinagar-Malhaur route under Lucknow and Gorakhpur Railway Division. Giving more details, PRO Lucknow Division Mahesh Gupta said that trains have been canceled with the aim of improving passenger amenities.

Meanwhile, recently the Indian Railways announced its decision to run special trains on the occasion of Holi in different parts of the country. This step has been taken to control the extra rush during the festive season. As per its announcement, Indian Railways announced that it will run 16 special trains.
