New Delhi: Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has criticized Babar Azam in an explosive interview. Launching a scathing attack on Babar, the veteran cricketer urged him to improve his speaking skills. The Rawalpindi Express feels that speaking in English in public has become a herculean task for the Pakistani cricket team. Akhtar openly admitted that Babar should become the biggest brand in Pakistan. However, in an interview with a local Pakistani channel, he took a jibe at Babar & Co., pointing out the shortcomings of Pakistani players. Akhtar told Suno News – Now you see, there is no character in the team. No way to talk. How awkward it is when they come to the presentation. How difficult is it to learn and speak English?
Babar Azam failed to become the biggest brand in Pakistan
Akhtar asked why star batsman Babar Azam has failed to become the biggest brand in Pakistan. Akhtar said, “I want to say openly that Babar Azam should be the biggest brand in Pakistan, but why has he not become the biggest brand in Pakistan? because he cannot speak."
'I am a cricketer, my job is to play cricket'
Earlier, Pakistan's all-format captain Babar had insisted that his job is to play cricket. Former cricketer Tanveer Ahmed criticized Babar for not being able to speak English. In response to this Babar said- “I am a cricketer, my job is to play cricket. I am not a 'gora' who knows English perfectly. Yes, I am working on it, but you learn these things with time, you just can't suddenly learn it. Premier batsman Babar has played 47 Tests, 95 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 99 T20Is for Pakistan. Babar is currently leading the Peshawar Zalmi franchise in the 2023 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
