The second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy ended in Delhi on Sunday. This was Cheteshwar Pujara's 100th match.

He became the 13th player to play 100 Tests for India. He is the 75th player in the world to do so.

He has been an integral part of India's Test batting for over a decade.

Pujara plays for India at number-3 and before him the legendary Rahul Dravid played at this position.

Let us compare the figures of both.

Figures of both after 100 tests

Dravid is known as 'The Wall'. After him Pujara was called India's new 'The Wall'.

Pujara has scored 7,052 runs in 100 Test matches at an average of 44.08. Dravid scored 8,553 runs in 100 Tests at an impressive average of 57.79.

West Indies' Brian Lara (8,916), Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara (8,651) and Pakistan's Younis Khan (8,640) are the players who have scored more Test runs after 100 Tests than him.

Who scored the most fifties and hundreds?

Pujara has so far scored 34 half-centuries and 19 centuries in Test cricket. He has also converted three centuries into double centuries. His best score has been 206 runs.

Talking about Dravid, he scored 22 centuries and 42 half-centuries in 100 Tests. 5 double centuries also came out of his bat.

His best score was 270 runs. He played this innings against the Pakistan cricket team.

Records both on Indian soil and foreign soil

Pujara has played 49 Test matches on Indian soil, scoring 3,737 runs at an average of 53.38.

Outside India, he has scored 3,315 runs at an average of 36.83.

Of Dravid's first 100 Tests, 47 were at home. During this, he scored 3,761 runs at an average of 51.52. His record away from home was even more impressive. He scored 4,792 runs at an average of 63.89.

India lead 2-0 in the series against Australia

India beat Australia by 6 wickets in the second Test to take a 2-0 lead in the 4-match Test series and retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

India had won the last three Test series against Australia by a margin of 2-1.

Pujara's scores in the current series are 7, 0 and 31 not out. Now 2 more matches are to be played in the series. In such a situation, Pujara would like to perform better.
