The authorities of Honduras They arrested this Saturday Mario Rojel Urbina Miranda, a local citizen who is required by the justice of USA charged with crimes of drug trafficking.

They were also extradited to US territory Miguel Arnulfo Valle Valle and his brother Luis Alonso Valle Valle, on December 18, 2014.

This Saturday Urbina Miranda was transferred by helicopter under tight security measures to the headquarters of the National Directorate of Special Police Forces in the eastern sector of Tegucigalpa.

The Supreme Court of Justice of that Central American nation indicated on Twitter that Urbina Miranda, 40, will be presented to as soon as possible before a Honduran extradition judge in the capital.

Urbina Miranda was required by a Virginia District Court, USAunder charges of money laundering and drug trafficking.

Since 2014 the authorities of Honduras have delivered to the justice of USA to about 40 Honduran citizens.

The case with the greatest impact was the extradition in April 2022 of former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández (2014-2022), accused of sending to USA some 500 tons of cocaine from South America between 2004 and 2022. The start of his trial in federal court in New York is scheduled for September 18.

His brother, former congressman Juan Antonio "Tony" Hernández, was sentenced to life sentence in March 2021 in New York, for sending to USA 140,000 kilos of cocaine from 2004 to 2016.
