The artificial intelligence (AI) It has gained a lot of popularity in recent times, thanks to the models that generate images from the sentence that is dictated to them and to the conversational models. We will talk about the latter on this occasion, specifically two, ChatGPT and Google Bard.
The first of these is a chatbot developed by OpenIA – a company of which Elon Musk is a co-founder – in 2022 and launched in November of the same year. It is a great language model adjusted with both supervised and reinforcement learning techniques.. It is based on the OpenAI GPT-3.5 model, an improved version of GPT-3. It is built on machine learning so that users enter questions and get human-like written responses. Microsoft has strongly invested in this project and is interested in investing US$ 10,000 million for its development.

Like the previous model, Bard is an AI that allows its users to get updated answers through the Google search engine. This service is based on the LaMDA neural language model, developed by the technology company Google. In June 2022, LaMDA drew attention when Google engineer Blake Lemoine claimed that the chatbot had become sensitive, a comment the company denied. The conversational model is a “code red” effort that tries to stand up to the current success that ChatGPT is having.
Differences between ChatGPT and Bard
While both Bard and ChatGPT are language-based conversational AI models, there are important differences in their design and intended use for them.
One of the most notable differences between the two AIs is that while ChatGPT is limited to collecting events up to 2021, Bard will have access to much more recent information.
On the other hand, while ChatGPT is prone to providing some bugs and making things up, Google's AI Bard is believed to provide more accurate data to users.

Or, at least, that's how it should be in theory, as we recently saw the chatbot give astrophysicist Grant Tremblay the wrong answer when he asked it about new discoveries made by the James Webb Space Telescope. According to the anecdote narrated by the American portal 'The Verge', Brand responded that the telescope would have taken the first images of a planet outside the solar system, completely wrong data.
The news of the event was so talked about in the media that it caused Google to reduce its value on the stock market and lose 100,000 million dollars.
The solution proposed by Microsoft, which has integrated ChatGPT to its Bing search engine, is show the references where the chatbot gets the information from when users interact with the new version of Bing.
Another important difference is that, according to its developers, Bard will be able to answer difficult topics in a way that is accessible to a wide audience, disseminating knowledge in a way that is clear even to children.
Google also says that the service will perform other tasks, such as giving tips for planning a party or ideas for eating based on the food left in the refrigerator.
The tech giant has hinted that the model should be available to the public in the coming weeks. At the moment, Bard is only open to a select number of testers and Google plans to gather feedback and improvements on its tool before making it available to a wider audience.
