New Delhi: Cancer has settled in the body. Just had surgery. Meenakshi Sengupta, a Bengali woman, was traveling to the United States on an American Airlines flight from Delhi alone with a sick body. He asked for help from the flight attendant to place his hand bag on the overhead bin of the seat. But unable to help, he was allegedly kicked off the plane. Meenakshi Sengupta has already expressed her anger against US Airlines by reporting the incident on Twitter. His tweet is currently viral on social media. With which the netizens are excited. In this regard, they have also requested action from the Ministry of Civil Aviation to the Delhi Commission for Women.
What exactly happened?
It is known that Meenakshi Sengupta, an American-expatriate Bengali, boarded an American Airlines flight from Delhi Airport to New York on January 30. He boarded the plane in a wheelchair. He had a bag in his hand. He kept that bag beside the seat. A flight attendant asked him to put the bag on top of the seat. In response, Meenakshi requested the flight attendant to hand over the bag. The flight attendant got very angry and said that this is not her job. Not only this, it is also alleged that Meenakshi Devi was threatened to be taken off the plane if she spoke about her physical condition. Not only was he threatened, he was eventually kicked off the plane. Meenakshi Sengupta later tweeted the entire incident and complained to the Delhi Police and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
In the complaint filed with the Delhi Police and DGCA, she said, “My hand bag weighed less than 5 pounds. Even so, the American Airlines flight attendant was no help in picking it up. Instead, they took him off the plane with extreme misbehavior.” Not only that, Meenakshidevi also complained that her PNR was also flagged. In his words, “They also flag my PNR. As a result, I did not get a return ticket even the next day. I ended up flying to Atlanta on another airline. From there, reach home by road."
However, the Ministry of Civil Aviation is shaken after receiving Meenakshi Devi's complaint. DGCA has asked the US airlines to report the entire incident saying that any insensitivity will not be tolerated.
However, an American Airlines PR official said in a statement that Meenakshi Sengupta was removed from the flight for disobeying the instructions of the flight crew and acting inappropriately. However, he said in a statement that his unused ticket portion will be refunded. However, netizens have appealed to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Delhi Commission for Women to take strict action against the use of US airline workers.
